Has anyone tried the deuter Act Lite 50+10 pack? If so, what do you think? I looked at one today at a local outfitter and was impressed with price and quality. Just wondering how it actually performs. Thanks

I can't speak for the 50+10, but I own the 65+10, and my wife owns the woman's version which is a 60+10.
In my opinion, they are the BEST packs for the money. They is a reason they are super popular in Europe. The one I own, has to be the most comfortable pack I've ever worn or owned. Durability isn't an issue, they are pretty bomb proof.
In other words, my wife and I love ours!
I have been having a hard time finding a pack; I have back and neck issues. Tried Osprey's Aura, ULA's Circuit, and even the Aarns. Went back to REI to try an Osprey Ariel, but it didn't really work either. I told the salesman my criteria "I don't care who makes it, what color it is, or what it costs, I just want a comfortable pack that doesn't weigh a ton." I tried the Deuter ACT Lite 60+10SL (women's fit), and loved it!!! But it was just too much pack; I wasn't utilizing the extension or the outer pockets, and the separate sleep bag area was just another zipper to break, and not needed. REI didn't have anything smaller so I got online and found the ACT Zero 55+10 SL.Took them both for a spin, and ended up take the larger back to REI. Great fit for me, while 3 lbs certainly no UL,but the X stays seemed to really give the support I needed. YMMV, as we are all built differently.
