take this with a grain of salt.

id is testing (at least) 2 jackets made of e-vent.

they mentioned one in their catalog. a thru-hiking version. it’s longer (covers the butt a bit). i think it has pockets.

the other one may be a pullover. not really sure.

both are 3-ply. the feel of the fabric is different than the one currently on sale. of course, it’s still waterproof and breathable.

i think they may be released in august.

That is good news. I have an event cycling jacket, that is quite breathable. It is 16 oz. however. The lightweight hiking jackets are too short, the covering the butt is a huge deal, as are handwarming pockets.

William, ID were very happy to provide information about the forthcoming jackets over the phone. One will be hoodless, which may be desirable for cycling, but I don’t remember whether it is a cycling-specific jacket. I do recall that none of the new jackets will have pitzips. The other jacket will have a full-featured, adjustable hood, and I think (not positive) that it will be helmet-compatible.
