I have been looking at this for a week or so. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with it. Looks like a nice product. Just want to hear from the real world concerning the useage

It seems Ryan Jordan thinks of it as his favorite bivy shelter right now. I’m thinking of getting one, too, for when I want to go as small as possible. One person I know said he wouldn’t like it because you can’t sit up in it, but I thought about that and realized that you can just deflate the air tube and then use it as a regular bivy.
There is the new Nemo Mio, which is based on the GoGo and you can sit up in it at the entrance.
If you are looking at a hooped bivy, consider the Big Agnes eVent 3 Wire.
I have the LE it's the one with the door on the side.
I'm really digging my GoGo! It's not the lightest thing out there but as far as a bivy is concerned I'd say think of it as between bivy and one man tent.
I slept with my 70lb pitty bull in it and it wasn't bad at all. 0 condensation and it holds warmth in for sure. I put him on his sleeping pad in the entrance with the mesh and used him as a pillow and I used the side entry as a main door. In fact one night I woke up because the moon was really bright and opened side door stuck my body half way out and leaned on airbeam and just napped while star gazing. It was like a comfy recliner with the airbeam holding up my back. I love airbeams it makes me never want to use a tent with poles. Packing up is AMAZING …takes all of like 10 seconds as u stuff it in its bag.
I wouldn't like to be stuck in it for a week during a rainstorm as it's still a bivy and you can't really hang out inside but I do really like mine and pretty much everyone of my friends that has seen it has gone to REI to pick one up.
I had no condensation problems in it yet and it's definitely warmer than a 2p double wall mesh tent when all sealed up. I have zero concerns with it being rainproof as the seams are sealed.
Thanks for the replies guys. I am almost sure I am getting one in the next few months. Alex I can understand the not wanting to be stuck in that thing for a few days thing. Basically I am going to be using it in the Sierra's during the summer. I like the compactness of it. I could go for the tarp thing, but I am at such a low weight thing that a pound is not going to be a penalty. Alex glad your pit bull dug it too!! I like the idea of a vestibule where I can stash my pack.
David, thanks the info on the Big Agnes Event 3 Wire….I will check it out since you posted that. Thanks.
Miquel thanks for the link. Nice to know Ryan digs it too
I've seen several of these out on the AT recently. It seems pretty clever, but I don't see why the average 3 season trail hiker would buy this product. Can someone enlighten me? Am I missing something?
I've used the basic GoGo for the last 2 summer seasons in the Sierra.
Its a well designed, well constructed product. I love the air tube frame for ease of set up. GoGo is a nice little place to hang out in at night or in bad weather.
If you want to go UL, get the basic GoGo not the 2 fancier models which are heavier.
I very slightly modified the front of mine to shave a few grams. you can also significantly shorten the tubes on the basic pump to make it lighter. I bring 3 stakes, 2 for the back and 1 for the front.
The only down side is the typical condensation, often seen in single wall tents on cold nights, if you close the GoGo up completely.
But mine is a first generation GoGo. Supposedly the newer models have a slightly more breathable fabric.
Even with this draw back I'd strongly recommend it.
Mine weighs 821g (1.81 lb) slightly modified. this includes 3 stakes, 8 ft of string, basic pump with shortened tubes, and different lighter stuff sack.
Does anybody know what the difference between the 2009 and 2010 versions is?
As Art mentioned, the 2010 versions are to have a more breathable version of the Osmo fabric.
Just bought the 2009 on clearance at REI. Excited to see how this works!!! Thanks for all the info guys!
Just got my GoGo yesterday. Drove an hours time just to pick it up! I quickly set it up and I noticed two things. The first thing was that the "pole" was already set up in the tent. Hmmm….Second thing was that there was no side door that the 2009 has. Could the 2010 model have been sent to me by mistake??????? Anyways, I put my gear in it and got inside and just love it! Nice!!!!!!!
Ken,
The GoGo doesn't have a side door the GoGo LE does.
if you got the version with no side door consider yourself lucky.
in my view the side door is an unnecessary luxury that just adds weight.
I have to disagree, I use the sideentry exclusively. It's much easier to get in and out of.
