Down/Synthetic loft comparisons

In terms of warmth to loft, has anyone done any research or have any insight on warmth of down garments vs. warmth of synthetics? Like is a half inch of loft of Polarguard Delta roughly the same warmth as an inch of down loft? I’d appreciate any comments or experiences in relative warmth to loft of down vs. synthetics.
