Just bought a few wool items (boxer briefs, henley top and longjohn bottom) from Ramblers Way to try out. Was turned on to them by another BPL member/one of my hiking companions. Ramblers Way uses Rambouillet wool raised sustainably in the U.S. to make garments manufactured in the U.S. It was started by the guy who founded Tom’s of Maine.
Expensive. Very.
I just got my order today, so haven’t had a chance to really use any of it yet, but I tried the boxers and the henley on, and they’re quite light and comfortable. The boxers are made in such a way that I think they won’t ride up (wedgie) like the Icebreaker 150s do. And they’re lighter than the 150s. I really like the way they fit. I’m wearing them to work tomorrow just to get an idea of how they feel for a day.
I’ll try the shirt on my next hiking trip as my base layer. Even though they cost a lot, I’m quite excited about the garments. I like the philosophy of the business and I’m willing to pay to support it! I do hope, though, that they expand to different colors!
