Anyone want to save little bit of weight on the wallet? I know you can spend all your dollar to keep your wallet light weight lol!
welcome to leave some comments
Make from old style Cuben CN9K.5This is a DIY prototype
May 14, 2010 at 5:00 am #1609697absolutely love this – where do i get one?
very impressive
May 14, 2010 at 5:08 am #1609698I love it! Great job! More pics please.
May 14, 2010 at 5:54 am #1609706Nice! Any chance you could publish some construction notes!? I have a bunch of little offcuts left over from making my tarp… and I'd LOVE to make one for myself! What a neat (if a little geeky, you have to admit it) project!
May 14, 2010 at 6:27 am #1609710Very nice! I love the size of my All-Ett wallet but the Spinnaker fabric has blown out in the corners after one year. Is that a sticker or heat transfer graphic in the corner? Looks great.
May 14, 2010 at 4:05 pm #1609872I like the design. I wonder how well it will hold up.
May 14, 2010 at 8:55 pm #1609947Hi moma,
More details please~
May 14, 2010 at 9:39 pm #1609961It should hold up pretty well. CN9K.5 is tough stuff. It weighs 80.5g per meter 2 which is roughly 3oz/yd. That's twice the weight of the durable cuben packs being made (ie. Zpacks).
May 14, 2010 at 11:54 pm #1609982the size of this wallet was modify from a Prada wallet!
As the wallet on market was using either leather or 600D so it much thicker then this Cuben cloth.
i do make 2 other prototype before get this final version.Putting it to gether is easy by using double side tape. but stitching it is little bit hard as the surface of the cuben is very slippy specially stitching the edge of the wallet as layer overlapping it create a thickness around 4mm., so is little bit hard to controll well.
tailoring it and stick it togeher is not take time but stitching it nicely is a problem and take time, so i do not know shall i put it on market.
from the look people will feel like you are using a paper wallet!! [specially my wife!]
But the actually hand feeling is like using a bullet proof plastic bag! super light weight and very thin!this materail actually for sail making. so limited product can be produce if i decide to launch this product. as North Sail purchase the Cuben Corp, so Cuben Corp wont sell any sail grade cuben to anybody!
Cheers
JMay 15, 2010 at 12:33 am #1609985Very nice work.
It's perfect for the trail, but where do you but the coinsMay 17, 2010 at 4:31 am #1610516Coins is too heavy mate joking;p !
i am living in Hong Kong, Hong Kong is using less coins now as they have a Cash card like the UK oyster card system using this card can do purchasing in 7-11 or paying fees on transport. So we are using less coin now. Therefore i didn't put any extra coin pouch in the wallet.
May 17, 2010 at 3:03 pm #1610681"North Sail purchase the Cuben Corp, so Cuben Corp wont sell any sail grade cuben to anybody!"
Please explain!
May 17, 2010 at 3:46 pm #1610706Lawson,
I talked to North Sail when they first bought Cuben. What they told me was that North Sail will sell to sailmakers only and Cuben Corp will sell the rest of the world that is using Cuben for other than sails.
May 17, 2010 at 4:00 pm #1610714So are you selling these, or just displaying your creation- not bad, by the way. Sam.

Works for me.
FrancoAug 1, 2010 at 9:28 am #1633913i do try making with 1.5oz spinnaker cloth, but it just feel like too soft for me, the out come like a soft bag instead of a wallet wallet like.
