What is your most unexpected or clever gear choice or modification or duel use gear to save weight? Its not glamorous but I use SPF 40 chap stick for lip and sun protection for back of hands. Also have used it to lube gasket on gas stove pump, LED o-ring. Works great for fire starter and I inserted a candle wick to experiment with emergency candle use. (lip of tube has minor melting issues). I stuffed a pre-prepped cotton ball, sized to fit, in the cap. I was told that Aloe-vera makes a stick that has SPF 15 and burn benefit application, thigh chaffing lube. I use the cap occasionally as a light diffuser on my AAA LED light.
