@7.6 oz., it must be .5 oz. Cuben?
It's in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan.
It could be difficult to do business with the language barrier.

I’m pretty sure Hendrik, a member on here, has ordered some gear from them. PM him, and maybe have a search on his blog.
Yikes on the price of that thing…
42,000 Yen = $440 US.
I remember someone did a small writeup on them. It may have been on Hendrik's blog, but I am not sure and can't seem to find it now. The one thing it did say was that, like Tony mentioned above, it is expensive.
I got it wrong. It wasn’t on Hendriks blog. It was on Phil Turners blog here.
It looks identical to the MLD DuoMid at $405.
Me? "hello, Ron?" (in English)
I'm ordering a tarp from them soon. Have emailed them many times in English and they have always had prompt and comprehensible replies. The exchange rate really isn't working in your favor if you're ordering from the states…
I'm just happy to see some Japanese folks going ultra-light, even the people walking up mole hills out here are decked out.
Hi Hamilton
There is actually a nascent Japanese UL movement who make some beautiful gear – you may know of this store, but if not:
The owner of Hikers Depot used to be the buyer at OD BOX and is the reason why they started stocking UL gear including the locally made stuff like t_z stoves.
There are whole heap of links to blogs down the right side of this page which are worth exploring:
I like his comment about doting on gear more than mountains …

Thanks for your help! Great resources, I really need to get plugged in with some people here, I appreciate your help a lot.
You come up this way for hiking often?
Hi Hamilton
I've lived in Japan a couple of times, most recently from 2001 to 2006. I get back at least once a year and try to get some walks in while I'm there.
(Periodically I get approached about moving back to Japan but unfortunately now's not the right time … but the next move back will be for good)
Brett and Miguel are based in Japan and would be great sources of info on lots of things.
"I like his comment about doting on gear more than mountains …"
This sort comment comes up from time to time on photography forums, also — usually the most active posters are either trapped in cubicles and vicariously getting their fix while biding their time until their weekend parole, or completely inept and hiding behind their gear.
You can identify the stir-crazy ones, because they disappear the moment their weekend parole begins (I invariably get behind on e-mail over the weekends because of this ;))
