I clicked and now it's a Sherpa Car Top Carrier! If this is anything like steapandcheap (or whatever it's called), posting these ephemeral deals just brings out the frustration of missing out. Sigh.

I jumped on it as soon as I saw Konrad's message, and it was in the cart before midnight. Hopefully it will appear on my doorstep in a few days, and hopefully the size will be correct.

Actually, for this kind of shirt, I prefer Ex Officio brand.

Deals of the days on REI usually last the whole day unless they sell out. I didn't see the deal til right before I went to bed, so I think there were only a couple hrs left in the day when I posted it.

FWIW, I just received the shirt. For $20, it isn't bad. It is not a UL trail-hiking shirt. Way too heavy and complicated. It's more of an airliner shirt with pockets for passports and stuff like that. A small weighs 9.4 oz. I'll bet I could go in there with a razor and cut out an ounce, easy. For one thing, it has little strips of CoolMax fabric inside in strange places. Don't need 'em. This is more like the shirt that you would be wearing at the Nairobi airport lounge as you sit down for a cold Tusker beer.

Hey, travel-friendly = feature rich ‡ UL. But then, that's what scissors are for. :)
