Does anyone know of a pole or tubing source for either Carbon Fiber or Aluminum collapsible poles. I'm looking to make an adjustable pole the goes into sections less than 24" that can go from about 6 -8 ft high. Fibraplex poles are not thick enough. Easton Poles do not have an adjustment mechanism and the .742 pole is only really sufficient for about 6ft high.
Thanks

One way to do it would be to have fixed length sections of the same diameter using a short piece of brass tubing to join them, with one section of smaller tubing telescoping. You have to be careful how you store a telescoping pole or a small dent and they're stuck together forever.Apr 22, 2010 at 6:21 pm #1601069Maybe this? http://www.rei.com/product/628047?preferredSku=6280470011&cm_mmc=cse_froogle-_-datafeed-_-product-_-6280470011&mr:trackingCode=72734FFE-FB85-DE11-B7F3-0019B9C043EB&mr:referralID=NA
Also Google Eureka telescoping pole for very large ones . Quest fabrics for constructinfg an exact fit. For DIY cheapness cut up an aluminum tripod and merge it with a regular swedged sectional aluminum base.Apr 22, 2010 at 6:28 pm #1601071Fibraplex poles are not thick enough.
That surprises me a bit — I know that Fibraplex has replacement poles for the Black Diamond mids. I know that is only about 5' high, but if they can do that I would think they may also be able to meet your need. If you have not asked them, perhaps you should?

Apr 22, 2010 at 6:37 pm #1601073I actually did call fibraplex and they said they could not recommend that pole for more than 5 feet. It is 3 small poles epoxied together to create strength. They said you would need perhaps 7 poles expoxied together to create the strength at a height of 6 or 7 feet which would be very pricey.
