I need to replace my current pillow and came across the exped air pillow. It looks like they have the regular air pillow (3ounces) and a air pillow comfort foam which apparently has pellets of foam inside(5 ounces). I've never used a self inflate pillow but this seems to be one that might work on the comfort end. Just curious if anyone has any experience with either one and if the comfort foam would make a difference.

I have the regular and like it, but I'm nearly as comfortable with an empty inflated Nalgene Cantene (3 liter) under my head when on my back. I already carry this for collecting water, so I save the weight of the pillow. For side sleeping, I'd need something taller than either.
Andy's post inspired me to look at my own Exped. It would in fact make a great water container if you filled it from the deflation hole. Thus, Andy uses his water container as a pillow. Next trip, I will use my pillow as a water container.

Hilarious! :D I like that idea better, so I'm going to try it too!
If you haven't checked it out Montbel makes one that I really like. Big, very light and packs light:

I have been using the Exped pillow and it works great for me, it fits perfectly in the hood of my Mont-Bell.
But to get down to 1.3 oz I am going to try the pillow from Kookabay http://www.kookabay.com/ which is the same price I paid at REI, too bad I missed his sub 1 oz pillow sale when he had the 30d fabric.
I like the Kookabay. However, it is a tad small for my overly large head. The Exped also lifts your head a tad higher than the Kookabay. If you sleep on your back, both work fine. If you sleep on your side, the Exped is, IMO, the better choice. I may try the Montbell, though. It looks as high as the Exped, and it's .6 oz lighter.
