Had my third hike today in my new shoes, about 10 miles, and I can already tell I need to replace the insole with something beefier. In my boots I always go with Superfeet Green, but would be interested to know what others use in their Salomon's and other trail runners. I'm sure there are many threads on this subject, and I did do a search, but either I am missing something or the search function on this server leaves a lot to be desired. Sorry if I am beating a dead horse.

Yea, a Whole Lot!
In the meantime use Google with 'site:http://www.backpackinglight.com' followed by your search terms. It does pretty well.
Also, there are three search approaches here.
1) filling in the *NEW* Search BPL window (the worst)
2) Using the Advanced Search right beside it, and selecting 'all words'
3) Using 'Search Forums' below Community (above and to the right)
And good luck to ya.
And good luck on the Insole Quest. I use the "Custom Black" moldable Superfeet. Low volume, neutral support, and good longevity. (Fit by a very knowledgeable, experienced, high-volume ski area tech.)
I've used the green Superfeet in my Salomon XA Comp before, and they fit fine. For some reason the last few pair I've not needed them.
MR- I use SOLE medium volume insoles with my Salomon trail runners. They can be heated then molded to fit your foot. I think SOLE also makes a high and low volume model.
Why do you think you need "after market" insoles? If the shoes fit perfectly now, they will not fit as well with Superfeet Green. Been there, done that. I bought the insoles, out of many years of habit. Went back to the OEM insoles, and have been much happier.
