Back about 30 years ago, the (old) Early Winters company had a freeze-dried orange juice product that was great for backpackers. It had orange pulp in it, rehydrated instantly, and had a flavor that was mistaken for fresh-squeezed. I haven't seen anything like that in the marketplace lately. Any leads?

We are not talking about Tang or anything that artificial.

This site (http://www.truelemonstore.com/products/true_orange) has a product that is supposed to taste like fresh orange juice. I believe I've had their true lemon. What I had tasted quite a bit like a real lemon, freshly squeezed.

Thanks. I'm going to have to sample some of that.

Ingredients: Dextrose, Citric acid, Orange Juice, Orange Oil, Maltodextrin, Ascorbic Acid (Vitiman C). [sic)

    It doesn't sound very natural!

This topic intrigued me so I've been seeing if I could find a supplier. I did find one in the UK…

I guess it is hard to find good orange pulp anymore.

There is a marketing idea if anybody wants to chase it. Produce a freeze-dried orange juice product that easily rehydrates in cold water. Sell it in a package that mixes up one quart of juice. It should cost no more than $3-$4. Long shelf life.
