Can anyone here recommend a good hanging scale or perhaps a better alternative to my bathroom scale?

I love my little kitchen scale, but it only goes to like 4 or 5 pounds. It measures things down to .05 ounces, though and is accurate (or at least very consistent).

I knew a friend of mine had one in his garage he used for shipping weights (ebay) and he recommended a fish scale from a fishing store. I bought one and it was so inaccurate it was embarrassing. It was digital and had all sorts of bells and whistles, but never gave the same weight twice and always gave weights heavier than measured on my little kitchen scale.

The fishers want to brag big weight and we want to brag small ones.

Anyhow, I'd really like a digital scale that could give me something like .5 or .05 ounces and can weigh bigger items like tents or fully packed backpacks. I figured if anyone knew how to do it, it would be you crazy cats.

Fishing season is coming on, so walmart is carrying the Hanging Fish scales that go up to 50lbs.

I think I paid $5 for one.

I had one and got different weights from the same item many times. YMDV (your mileage did vary)
