Any cottage industry food manufacturers out there? The only one I currently know of is Hawk vittles, looking forward to trying some of those, any others to look for?
Edit: looking for people manufacturing actual meals, already a fan of FBC, sometimes I'm just too lazy or cheap to purchase all the ingredients needed to make 1 meal for a weekend trip.

Enertia Trail Foods – I met them at Trail Days 2009 in Damascus, VA. Really nice people and the food is pretty darn good. If I remember correctly – they bought out a person who was already in the business but was about to shutdown. They bought the equipment and some of the recipes but have added a lot more and improved the quality. They are working with the Coleman company now but it is really two siblings and their associated families who run the business.

If I remember right the original owner of Enertia had passed away. So their being bought did save the company. They moved the company to another state as well.

For a family run business also check out wwww.packitgourmet.com – it is run by Sarah and her mother.

    http://www.packlitefoods.com is another small company.

Dicentra maybe? I don't know if she's on this forum, but she's on whiteblaze and she's planning to attend the PCT kickoff this year. I know she's prepared meals for hikers before, but I don't know if that's a regular thing for her. She does have a website and book…One Pan Wonders.

Yep, Di posts here :-) And yes, she will be at Kick Off again this year – she is going with a couple of our mutual friends as well.

    LOL. I post everywhere! :p

Yes! I am registered for KO. I am also speaking on hiker nutrition and food ideas in the Pavillion after dinner – I think it got moved to Friday night. Come find me!

Yes, I am sponsoring three PCT thrus this year and doing a big chunk of their food. This comes out of MY pocket. I do not (yet) sell my meals. It is in the long term plan for One Pan Wonders though. Lord knows I've had enough requests.

    One more thing…

Since I've gotten used to doing a ton of meals at once (sometimes 30 or more in a day) I've developed a "system". I will make 4 of the same type of meal at one time.

If you did this for say, one overnight trip, you would have 3 more meals already packaged for future trips.

I took pics of how I did this last night… Intending to make it into a blog post. I will try and remember to also post it here.

I'm thinking next week I should start hiking from KM to Lake Morena instead of from Campo to KM. Y'all are making me hungry!
