In Ray Jardine's old book, he outlines a very simple way to attach space-blanket mylar material to the top of an umbrella so that it is desert-worthy.
Has anyone tried to do this with a *folding* umbrella? (The kind that folds onto itself.)
Thanks!

Hold it all together with the smallest plastic paper clips. I don't think you would have much luck permanently attaching mylar to a folder. It would need to be sectioned and glued, leaving a lot of edges to come loose.
I would go with the Golite chrome model or just find a white umbrella.
