I am currently looking for a 2P mid. It’ll mainly be for myself, but I would like the extra space for when my girlfriend comes along. I have been researching non-stop, and my brain is finally overwhelmed with all the info. I am located in British Columbia, and most of my hiking will be done in the PNW, so I feel like an inner will be necessary. I am trying to keep it around $450USD if possible ’cause, after the conversion, it’ll be closer to $650CAD. Non-stop searches on here, and over on r/ULgeartrade have come up empty.

A good value choice could be the Aricxi 2P mid. Not a lot of room but with the poles in A frame it should work. Double doors is a plus for me and if you have 145cm poles, you won’t need a pole jack.
I must point out that I’ve never seen one in the flesh but I know someone who has the fly and says that it’s decent quality.
If you use an inner then a mid is pretty pointless- you don’t get significant weight savings over a more conventional double-walled tent or a TarpTent. I’m I mid proselytizer, so I’m not just being contrarian, here. Instead, I use a light bivy, which functions as a groundsheet and keep the bugs and snakes off of me. This has the benefit that it also makes cowboy camping more comfortable. It’s lighter than an inner, but only slightly less expensive.
If you’re certain you want to use a mid and inner, though, an MLD DuoMid is USD280 and the inner is USD185, so that’s USD15 over your budget. I’m an MLD fanboy- they make simple but solid products, and I do not hesitate to recommend them. (In fact, I more or less trust Ron Bell implicitly.) Like all camping shelters, 2P mids can feel cramped at their stated capacity, but they really shine as a palace for one.
