It was a hoot to turn around tonight and meet you at REI! What a great presentation as well. Being 9 months preggo and listening to an awesome talk about desert hiking? Sheer torture! This baby better love sagebrush ;-) And Alan signed my well worn copy of his Best Desert Hikes. Now I have got to get out to the Palouse!

Is not the whole purpose of a forum to share ideas and participate in discussion? I, for one, welcome the ideas and input that come when I post a recipe. I may not use them and they may not be for everyone but it is discussion that precipitates inspiration and creation. No need to get knickers in a twist, any of you.

I kept thinking "Cowyiche Canyon here I come!". I think that might be one of my first post-pregnancy hikes this spring. :-) Hopefully before too many of the rattlers wake up though…..

You're welcome to go fly fishing anytime here that you wish. Be glad to show you some great spots.

You'll have a hard time finding the proverbial chip you're looking for though. In addition, you'll probably miss some darn nice trout out of the Madison while your distracted.

Joe, if we go fly fishing you could have a house on your shoulder and I would never see it. My wife says I'm a little "over focused" while fly fishing

Sarah, I thought it funny, that when he pronounced "Cowyiche" he didn't speak up very loud- I think he got it right though, I wouldn't know either way.

Tad – I'm jealous that Sar got to meet you. I wanted to go to the talk too but my pre-schooler wouldn't have sat still long enough for me to get anything out of the talk.
