I am down to these two bags. I like how the caribou is a little roomier and full zip but 4 oz heavier. Will the MicroFiber on the caribou help with condensation due to humidity more than the highlite? I’ve read all the reviews about the highlite but just wanted to hear thoughts on the caribou. thanks in advance.

Well, I have the Highlite and I modified it by installing a full length zipper. It now weighs 17.1 oz. I would gp with the down. You can’t beat the warmth to weight ratio.

Western Mountaineering manufactures amazing sleeping bags. Presently I own 3 of them for different situations and conditions. I should also preference this review with the fact Iโ€™m 6โ€™4โ€ and 220lbs and have experience with both Caribou MF and the Highlite. When it came time to decide between the Caribou MF and the Highlite I personally felt I slept better in the Caribou. Both bags are extremely light weight, have amazing loft and conservative temperature ratings but the Caribou MF offered 63โ€of shoulder room and a full length zipper at only a 4oz penalty which I felt was a pretty good trade off for a good nights sleep.

I was looking at both of the bags mentioned here, what did you end up going with and how do you like it? My main concern is durability and warmth, in some parts of texas you could get away with a 3 season bag year round.
