About 2 to 3 years ago Backpacker did an article on the new layering system for the military, and included a link to purchase the gear. They have a wind shirt that looks interesting. Reasonably priced.
Anybody used it?
How is the weight?

Hmmm… “encapsulated micro fiber fabric”. Sounds kinda like Epic. Looks a little beefy for a wind shirt, though.

if you do a search there is a long forum about the new military gear. The wind shirt is made of EPIC fabric and can be bought in a brown-green color. The civilian equivelant is the Wildthings EPIC windshirt.

Go to page 29 in this forum and then click Special Forces Clothing System, There is a lot of info on the new system with info about the windshirt. It is made of EPIC material. The actual windshirts can be bought for a resonable price.
