I'm looking for the lightest pair of convertibles for travel(so I can be unmistakably from the US while overseas, etc.) that I can find. Any suggestions? I know there are many out there, but I'm trying to gather the lightest options to choose from. Thanks!

I doubt if they are the lightest, but the Patagonia Gi II zipoff in medium is 12.0 oz.
My REI Sahara's are the same at 12oz. I think they are a M? They fit my 33" waist anyway.

I have a pair of Cloudveil Cool Convertible Pants that I absolutely love. The are much slimmer fitting than the “parachute” style REI Sahara pants that I have now since sold. Mine are size medium and weigh in at 9.91 oz (281g). I’ve worn them for travel, for backpacking and for winter trail running.

I normally wear a 32×34 pant. The medium fits perfect.
I don’t have a weight on a current model, but some of the Ex Officio pants are quite light and you can get various models with/without briefs.
My favorites of late are the Outdoor Research Equinox pants. Advertised weigh is 11.4oz/323g for a size large. They left off all the Inspector Gadget cargo pockets, which will help tweak your AmeriNerd image while traveling :)
+1. Have always liked REI's Saharas and bought the new design again this year. Really like the new fabric and pocket layouts.
Wow- thanks for all the input, folks!

Compared to the Saharas of three years ago, they seem to have shifted the cargo pockets to the side instead of the front. Now what did they do to the fabric?

My Saharas are 13.26 oz. Size L x 32"
Right now they're all on sale for $39.93.
