Heather Lake, Washington, below Mount Pilchuck. El Nino has the trail clear, but there is still some ice on the lake.

I guess that's why they call the family the "Stonecrop" family. Great little plant and great photo!

Sunrise on Bald Rock Mt, overlooking Penobscot Bay

I hike up here a few times a week before work to catch the sunrise, the trailhead is only a mile from our house.

Great place to catch a sunrise, Karl. I'm heading up there today for a last good look before I head out of state for a while. Bald Rock is without a doubt THE gem of the park.

I catch your blog from time to time. Looks like you have a great year planned. I am envious! I don't have that much time, but am planning on doing the Colorado Trail at the end of the summer.

Maybe we can compare trip photos when we get back :) I'll have to get out to CO one of these days. Happy trails, Karl!
