I emailed Bumble Bee — wish they provided the query I posted them in their response, they did not. Here is their response:

Dear Mr. Martin:
Thank you for taking the time to contact us about our Bumble Bee Pouch Tuna. It is a pleasure to hear from a consumer who enjoys our products, and to know our efforts to produce a superior product are appreciated.
We apologize that you have been unable to find this product at your local grocery store. As much as we would like retailers to carry all of our products (which now number over 500), the retail customers make decisions themselves as to which products they will carry based on consumer demand.
With that in mind, we suggest two possible ways to find our product:
First, you may have success if you contact the manager of your local grocery store to see if they will carry the product for you. While this may seem like an old-fashioned method, it is frequently very successful as store managers are usually very receptive to the input and requests of their customers.
The second, more high-tech option is to look for the product at online grocery stores. Some that carry our products include http://www.buythecase.net, http://www.amazon.com, http://www.netgrocer.com, http://www.hometownfavorites.com, http://www.peapod.com, and others. We do not endorse any one in particular, nor do any of them carry our full range of products, but many consumers in the past have had success with this option.
We currently still manufacture these items. There has been no discussion of discontinuing these products.
Thank you,
Bumble Bee Consumer Affairs
Roleigh, did you mean to ask about the chicken instead of the tuna? I thought that there were quite a few options for the small packets of tuna.
I found the 3-pack cans of Chicken breast today at Albertsons that Sarah mentioned. The cans are made by Valley Fresh and cost $4.99 for the pack. The weight is 4.0 ounces, vs. 3.7 for the packets from Sweet Sue. While the weight differntial is neglible, I would think that it will take some care to not poke holes in the freezer bag due to the hard edges of the can. I'm still interested in trying out the FD chicken.
I sent an email to Sweet Sue (division of Bumble Bee) tonight just to confirm that they have dis-continued the product, should know in a day or so. The have a locator option on their website, which showed none available within 50 miles of Seattle.
I highly recommend the freeze dried sausage crumbles. Chicken, turkey, roast beef, diced ham and ground beef can be obtained at http://beprepared.com/ in #10 cans. They also carry a large variety of vegetables and fruits.
Richard, I asked about their Tuna, Chicken and Salmon. I vary each every third night to avoid boredom. I wanted to make sure that all 3 stay available in single serving sizes.
I think that the freeze dried chicken that Harmony House sells is outstanding. I use it all the time on my trips and find it is has very good flavor and texture.
i can only get the 7oz packs of chicken in my area…so what i'v been doing is planning 2 meals to use the one pack
7oz is way too much for one meal
or i was thinking of getting the canned chicken..and putting it in a viploc and freezing it the night befor i go out…this way it will stay fresh longer…and won't have to worry about the weight of the can
