I really love this stove for a couple of reasons.

#1 – Wide Burner Head
#2 – Because the of the wide flame pattern, it paints the entire bottom of a greasepot. Can boil 2 cups of 47 degree water in about 2.5 minutes.

I have been using this stove on a Brunton Remote stand. The remote stand gives excellent flame control.

The Crux control on the other hand is very touchy to bring down to a simmer when running on a straight canister. With the Brunton stand I leave the crux control on full blast and use the flow control at the head of the canister instead.

My question to any of you canister gurus, is there any kind of a mod that can be done to better control the flame on the Crux when being used by itself?

I'm looking for one more canister stove to round out our compliment for this summer's trips and while I like the large burner of the crux, I don't intend to carry the Brunton stand all the time but I do want to simmer and fry things so flame control is important to me.
