I'd like to make all BPL'ers alert to this site and their excellent products. They produce highly customizable topo maps via an easy-to-use online interface, and ship them promptly. While the MyTopo maps are not cheap, and printing self-generated files at Kinkos or the like may be save money for those with mapping software, the customizable scales at MyTopo and the availability of big maps (up to 3'x4') can save money over buying multiple commerical maps or many USGS quads.
I ordered one for a Grand Canyon hike, at 1:24,000 scale and in the 3'x4' size. We got one map to cover the whole hike in fine details, rather than carrying or copying the 8 quads that would otherwise be needed.
The quality of the map itself is top notch. Full detail and tack sharp printing, no annoying shading added, and nice light waterproof paper that promises durability without being too bulky.
I imagine I'll use their services again.
