I recently returned my flyroc’s to REI after several trail runs in them. The traction on wet rocks, wet stones in the trail, wet bricks in the sidewalk, etc was horrendous. Really bad. Like trying to run on an ice rink. I mean really, really bad. I’ve never experienced anything so slippery.

I really liked everything else about the shoes so I’m wondering
a) certainly others have expereinced this?
b) are the models with sticky rubber soles better?

I found that traction wasn’t so good on wet and smooth such as asphalt or large sections of granite. I haven’t had problem on slightly textured concrete, beds of small stones (like along the lost coast). I think it’s because on truly flat hard surfaces the aggressive tread has less surface area contact than some other designs.

Gabe,

I experience the same thing with the Roclite 315’s. The traction is terrible once the shoes are wet. The only way to get traction after that is via the lugs catching on the edge of something. Not a deal breaker for me though, the shoe performs well in all other aspects.
