I was just looking at the ursack with aluminum insert for approved bear bagging. It occurred to me that 2 titanium pots, open ends facing and stacked, mimic the shape of the ursack insert. Testing and approval aside, how about a custom made ursack that snugly holds two “standard”, inverted lightweight titanium pots as an alternative to the insert. If you have one pot anyway, another adds less than half the weight of the insert and gives you another pot in the kitchen.
Of course, the overall carrying capacity would be less and you would loose the “bearproof” factor while cooking. Perhaps in that circumstance the extra pot would be useless.
Then, of course, for those who eat like a bird, there’s the super mini one pot w/lid ursack combo.
It might work if you could find the correct size pots. However, I’d hate to see what they’d look like after fending off a bear assault.
might look something like some of my old sigg pots! watched a bear in little yosemite valley use one for a stool as he ate my cup o soup packets
