Good insight Thomas. Curious…what are gorilla stakes?

Ha! I confused my aminals . . . animals (tough day). It's Gorilla glue and MSR Ground Hog stakes. They have a "Y" cross section, and they're a bit longer than the Eastons provided with the Tarptents. They work fabulously in snow and soft ground.
Sadly, they weigh .6 oz each. So the gram weenie in me takes them along only when he thinks he'll need them.
I carry one all the time to use as a cat-hole digger. If the wind is up, I use it as the windward stake for the Moment.
Back to work . . . for the Moment,

Heh heh…
>The next version of the Sublite Sil narrows the comfort/usable volume gap by getting wider and taller as well as adding a vestibule.
So what's the skinny on the new Sublite? Vestibule? What's the estimated weight? When will it be available.
Another recent thread suggests that folks here are champing at the bit on this one.
Looking to add to my Tarptent collection,

Tom:
Does the vestibule flap of the Moment reach down toward the ground like most "normal" vestibule flaps — or do they just reach about 2/3rds of the way down like most all other tarptents?
It gets almost to the ground without quite touching it. It's a pretty sweet system. The vestibule slides down the central hoop.

So it's a "real" (conventional) vestibule then! Sweet.

I had the Moment up in my bedroom last night (I trust that everybody here has bricks in their bedrooms…), so I took a few shots for you this morning.
The vestibule is of a decent size, about 21” wide and being pole supported the volume is pretty good. As you can see the floor can be pushed back to 27” still retaining enough room inside for a standard mat.
The bottom of the fly is 4" away from the ground.

Yes that's the Moment. I used mine last week for 8 nights and 3 setups in Big Bend NP. Worked just fine. Only concern was the possibility of wind. With all that mesh, a good puff would have filled it with dust. Got lucky. For desert use I'd like a second one with no mesh, there being no problem with condensation. And heat is no problem…unless you go there in hot weather.
For the desert, you need one made of tyvek. Anyone else here surprised Franco is sleeping with a Tarptent?
