First, let me say thank you for all the great information I have found on this site.
I am going to hike the PCT this spring and am trying to finalize my sleep system. Keeping weight in mind, I have decided to use my Marmot Helium 15 degree F bag combined with my Sea to Summit poncho/tarp. I was thinking of adding an ultralight bivy to this system because I do not want my bag to get wet, thus providing no help. I have narrowed my search down to either the MSR e-bivy or the RAB survival zone bivi. They cost about the same, but the MSR one is a bit lighter. The one thing keeping me back fromthe MSR bivy is they are seemingly hesitant to call it "waterproof" while the RAB bivi says its completely waterproof. Is this just semantics? Is the RAB worth the extra weight? Any reviews or comparisons would be greatly appreciated! Thanks…Evan

Just found the Terra Nova Moonlite- looks like a great bag, a bit pricier, but the same weight as the MSR and it seems waterproof…suggestions?

I Have a floorless shelter and wanted a lightweight bivy as well. I bought the Rab Ultra bivy. Superlight at 225grams. It doesn't say its "waterproof" but i've used under a floorless shelter. Works like a charm. I also was looking at the terra nova bivy as well. I am happy with Rab for sure!

thanks- the Ultra looks like a great bivi as well. With so many to choose from I am having a hard time finding one I like. The ultra seems to be more expensive than the other 3 which is why I shied away from it (30 USD more?) Any other reviews would be helpful in making my decision. Thanks!
