I received the a very nice "Happy New Year" greeting from JBS in Japan and a request to pass it on to all his friends at Backpacking Light.com.

He sent a picture of a new stove that some friends are about to put on the market ( if my Japanese is close).

This is a picture of it:

    Stove news:

With friends, have developed a low-profile stove.

Our alcohol stove is a one finger high and be will release
    soon.

It uses carbon felt in the stove body. The weight is 15g.

Windscreen is titanium and uses two (what look like tent stakes) for stability and to help hold the pot. The two lengths of metal weigh 19g.

The pot is separate, 34g, 95mm diameter titanium and will hold 473ml of water.

With 29ml methanol and burning 7 minutes and 20 seconds from ignition reaches 98 ℃. It continues burning for 11 minutes after ignition.

Looks like the woodburning stove I am working with.

I like the near-elimination of pot stand!

Happy New Year to JBS and fellow Japanese hikers!!!

This looks a lot like the Thermojet: http://www.thermojetstove.com/145r.jpg

I like the Thermojet, so a similar model in Titanium would be nice.
