I just did my first sewing project, I actually just modified my existing wind jacket. I'm very tall and on the thinner side so it's hard finding clothing at a reasonable price. Either it fits in the chest and is too short in the arms and length or it's long enough but fits like a sail. So I "took in" my existing jacket, that I had previously treated with DWR. I used polyester thread.

Here's my question, now that I have new seams what can I apply to a nylon jacket to slow leaking at the seams? On my tents I've used the silicone caulk and white gas but I don't know if that's okay for a jacket. Any ideas?

I don't know about the white gas. It dissolves certain plastics so maybe some synthetic fabrics might be damaged. I guess if you've used it on the same type of fabric, I can't see why it wouldn't be ok. Most of the homemade seam sealer I've read about uses an odorless paint thinner. It dries more slowly, but may not dissolve as many types of plastic.
