Reviewing the Thorofare Trekking Pant size chart I noticed that between the S and M sizes there is a gap: the waist measurement for size S is 28-30 and for the size M is 31-33. Since my body measurement is 30.5, what size should I choose? According to the hips and inseam measurements I would choose a size S, but I’m in doubt…

You're a small. The waist on the pants is very expandable. My waist at the belly button measures between 29.5 and 30.5 depending on time of day and I have the small. I have no doubt that I could even wear the extra small. The small should work fine for you though.
