I've got a question about materials for making a simple bivy sack. I looker over old posts and haven't seen this mentioned before. Has anyone tried to use a mylar space blanket for the bottom layer of a bivy? It seems like it would be a cheap, fairly lightweight alternative to other materials and might provide a little extra heat retention. Any thoghts on this?
