Shiny side facing towards the insulation.
Nice avatar!

Why? Just out of curiosity?
I would put the dull, yet soft, side against your skin inside the quilt, and put have a shiny side on the exterior of the bag, because it looks cool.
ayce (guy who had this stuff made) says dull right side shiny wrong side.

Nia,
Momentum has a shiny coating which is opaque and thus obscures the fabric, altho you can see the fabric color and the ripstop lines projecting thru the coating. The other side of the fabric is an attractive DWR mat finish with a mini ripstop. The choice always seemed obvious to me, but each to his/her own.

One side is shiny because the fabric is calendared (sp?). Basically, that side is shiny because the fabric was melted a bit. Why? Because that closes up the fabric to make it more down-proof. So yes, you want the more down-proof side of the fabric facing the insulation. (And hey, it does just feel and look better that way, too…)
