A friend of mine was asking what he could use for a ground cloth for a bivy that would be reusable. I suggested silynlon but is there anything else he should be looking at? I guess he is going to some really rocky places.

Brett,
Sil is the most popular choice.
That said, Tyvek, polycro, and "painters" drop cloth plastic have all been used as well.
Sil is my choice for waterproofness.
