I am interested in getting a pair of Inov-8 trail running shoes for cross country running, and aggressive ultralight fastpacking

but there are so many options

Roclite 285
Roclite 315
Roclite 335
F-lite 250
F-lite 300
Flyroc 310
Terroc 330
Mudroc 280
Mudroc 290
am I missing any?

two questions

1) which is the lightest
2) which is the most durable. they will be used on some rocky trails and possibly some off trail terrain.

Has anybody used any? I am interested in experiences and recomendations.

Have you tried their website? The products page says this:
“All of our shoes have a naming system where the name is unique to the sole design followed by a number which is the weight of an average UK size 8 shoe.”

Also on that page at the end of the list of shoes are two tables of suggested uses for each shoe.

Ryan, see this chart on their website:

Inov-8 Terrain Matrix

I’ve used most of their shoes and think the matrix is pretty accurate.

The best all-round hiking shoe for long distances is probably the Roclite 315 and Terroc 330. For trail hiking with lower daily mileages, the Roclite 285 and F-lite 300 are good choices.

If you’re going off trail with long mileages, the O-330 is a winner. Lower mileages and you can get away with something like the Mudroc 290.

If your feet are exceptionally fit you can look at the lighter models.

I have wide front part of foot but narrow heels – can’t wear a lot of brands because of heel slippage

have done well with Brooks because their heel cup is pretty deep & snug
