I'm really interested in the new Black Diamond Sprinter and the Petzl Myo RXP. They both fit the bill for backpacking trips, those long day hikes that find you hiking back to the car late, and trail running. However I'm not familiar with some of the technical data regarding lumen quality/distance, battery power and regulation etc. Does anyone have experience with either of these? If so what do you have to say about them? I currently have a Princeton Tec Quad and it isn't half bad, but the tilt feature feels awkward leaned forward for trail runs, its a little top heavy and tends to bounce on my head once I get going.

What I need in a headlamp:

1) Extended lighting range (sufficient enough for illuminating the trail 30-60ft ahead of me but also providing plenty of light for the immediate foreground for trail running/backpacking) The Petzl MYO RXP claims to have a lot of lumen options, but is that amount really necessary? And what is the battery drain/duration like at the higher lumen settings?

2) Lithium/rechargeable compatible.

3) Stable, I hate bouncing.

4) Lightweight. The BD Sprinter is half the weight, but also looks like it provides half the maximum light output compared to the Petzl MYO Rxp, I'm just not familiar enough with lumen quality and what is considered "bright". So maybe someone could shed some light (I know I went there) on these two and help me compare and contrast.

Thanks.
