Gave the Stealth NANO 0 tarp a try this past weekend. I was really happy with the size and pitch (and weight) but it was quite noisy and woke me up several times during the night.
I had a perfect pitch, but had set it up with bungees on all tieouts except for the ridge line (8″ of bungee tied in a loop with a water knot and girth hitched to the tie-outs.) It was very windy that night. It seemed that it would flex with the bungees in the wind and then snap back, waking me up. This was the first time I had used the bungees and first time I had used the NANO fabric so I don’t know if it would have been quieter without the bungee to let it flex.
I never had a problem with silnylon making noise and waking me up. Anyone have experience tarping in windy conditions with the NANO vs. silnylon? Can the NANO fabric stay quiet? The weight savings isn’t worth it to me if I can’t get a good nights sleep!
Thanks
Bob
