What spinning rod do you guys like for backpacking?
Oct 26, 2009 at 9:20 am #1539802i use 3 piece Quetico Rod Co. 6' rods. I have Manistee and pisces (teal girls's rod but <3oz and fun UL action).
I like bass fishing when i hike, and both of these rods are fine paired with a little pluger reel. The Manistee is a tad heavier at just over 3oz but has a lot more backbone. Either rod will work fine to throw little spinners for trout too.
i think they are only available on e-bay. The guy makes them sound custom, but i think they're made in china. I like them a lot either way.
Other similar rods are the basspro microlites
