I got an Osprey DayLite 13L pack at a local store for 20% off so I couldn't pass it up. The pack was listed at a pound but when I got it home I found it to be 15.3oz. For its size it is not light but the fit has me completely won over. It looks very rugged and I love the compact size because it has less chance getting snagged when I'm mountain biking with it. I am able to fit my BA fly creek, Lafuma 600g sleeping bag, and custom 78x20x2.5" sleeping pad in the main compartment with some room to spare. My sleeping bags compression system would give even more space if needed. In the small pocket I can fit my fire starting equipment, flashlight, pop can stove, cell phone etc. The mesh side pockets would be perfect for a fuel bottle or skinnier Nalgene bottle. I tried a 1L bottle and it fits but its very tight and may fall out if you aren't careful. You could easily fit hiking poles in the mesh pocket and keep them in place with the straps above. I can see myself using the bungee laces for a jacket or some flip flops. It wasn't obvious when I picked the pack up in the store but it it hydration compatible. It has room for my 100oz MULE bladder but if you fill it up completely it will bulge out back. Both shoulder straps have a clip for the drinking tube.

See I have a little bit of room up top but I can make more if needed.

The back is well ventilated and the padding is comfortable. The pad is removable bringing the pack down to 14oz. Without the pad you can roll it up very small!

The sternum buckle doubles as a whistle.

Swivel hose clips can be found on both shoulder straps.

The second pocket is long enough to fit my flashlight.

Here is a good view of the side pockets and compression straps. I'm not sure why they have compression straps unless they are supposed to be used to attach to a larger osprey bag.
