I stumbled across this video recently:

Self Aid Kits, Part 2

About six minutes in he starts talking about EMT Gel as a first aid treatment for wounds. He even cuts his arm with a knife to demonstrate, which quickly becomes a good lesson in keeping one’s knife sharp.

Anyway, has anyone used this EMT Gel on wounds? It’s actually a veterinary product intended for field use on dogs or horses. Here’s the EMT Gel site.

Thanks!

Gordon

1. IRRIGATE with clean water for 5 minutes. (say, 2 quarts of water)

2. treat with antibiotic cream/ointment

3. THEN use the collagen coagulant stuff if you think it will help.

4. otherwise use sterile gauaze and adhesive tape.
