Considering learning food dehydration…

Oh dear, yes I forgot that bit…
I usually use lemon juice but the last time I bought apples for drying, limes were on the $1 a bag trestle. So I used those.
I have a very large stainless steel bowl with about 1 liter of water in it and some lemon/lime juice in it ( the qty depends on what I have on hand…) so as I peel them and slice them they get dropped into that. Then I drain them and mix them into the caster sugar ( in my case brown sugar pulverised inside my food processor) and cinnamon. If I feel like it I add cloves too .
I do the lemon thing with apricots and bananas as well, but have no clue if it really helps or not…

Franco… I've never thought of the cloves. I've used that with mandarin oranges (the canned kind) but not with apples. I'll have to give it a try.
