Quick last minute overnight trip to a local wild place to stretch my legs, breathe fresh air, and clear my mind. Trip logistics were dead easy – thankfully. Raid the pantry for calories. Pack the usual gear (using a new pack, the SeekOutside Flight One). Check the weather; it’s going to be much colder than expected w/ possible rain/snow. Add a few warmer layers, traction, and an ice axe. On the way out I decided to add a shorty Z-lite for extra under insulation +sit pad (great choice, BTW). Back out of the drive way and head east.

Driving feels weird since I haven’t done much since…well, you know. I make good time and reach the trailhead faster than expected. “Yikes!” I can’t believe it’s full. Especially considering the forecast. A few yards up the road I find a pull-out with space and park.

Alex,

Nice pictures, but more importantly. Did you catch any fish?

Thanks, David. 3 brookies. 2 in the lake and 1 in the creek. All were on the smaller side so promptly released.
