Has anyone tried using this as a cookpot? Granted, at 1.6 oz its a bit heavier than a 25 oz Heineken can, but with a 5.5 inch base width, it would most likely make up for its slighly heavier weight in fuel savings. I imagine it would also hit a sweetspot for water holding capacity….being somewhere in the 12-16 oz range.

I’ve had one of these for a year or so, now.
Pros:
It holds a full 16oz without boiling over.
Very fuel efficient shape — particularly with side-burner alcohol stoves.
Light.
Cons:
Hard to pick up — requires pot lifter, two gloved hands, or one hand with a high-friction glove.
Shape not conducive to storing cook kit or windscreen inside.

Ahhh that sounds like a fair tradeoff to me, especially if I’m using esbit tablets (with rocks or tent stakes for pot support) rather than an alcohol stove. Thanks a lot Mike, I think I’ll give it a go.
