That’s pretty awesome. I never knew what a fire piston was and after all my reading on bushcraft and the like, that surprised me!

I would love a traditional one! This seems awesome too though! Great work on it!

Edit: Here is a site selling them..http://rosemtnfirepistons.com/zen/

I’m sure you could make one from cheaper, though surely heavier material than the titanium. Seems like a simple concept.

For an UL forum, your post is missing one important info, what is the weight :) ?

never thought about gettig a weight on it. The tube walls are 3mm thick and the rod is solid Ti. Its not built light, but it can take some punishment. You could probably drop this from the side of a mountain with no problem.

Esteban,
Wow, those look AWESOME! Any chance we could see a video of them in action? Pretty please?

Hey Esteban,

Didn't realize you were selling these! Thought you were just showing one off that you made! Why not post some prices and stuff?

didn't know if it was allowed or not.

A plain piston with no heat anodizing is $125. With heat anodizing its an extra $20. I can also fill the groove onthe body with glow epoxy so it glows int he dark for an extra $10.
