Does anyone knows if there is a hooded windshirt available in Petrex Quantum.

There are numerous ones available without a hood but I can’t seem to find one with a hood. That should be the ultimate lightweight windshirt or I am the only one who wants one.

Pierre Dumay: I really enjoyed looking at the CAMP.it web site. They have a lot of nice looking products. The Pertex Quantum Windshirt only being one of them. I also liked the Vest. I guess you are in Italy or near. Do you know if they or any of there dealers will ship to the US? Do you know how much the PT-Q Windshirt and maybe the Vest costs?
Thanks.

Christopher:
Thanks for the information. I was having so much fun testing “my very rusty Italian” I did not run a translation of the site. I wonder how much else I missed.

I will give them a call on Tuesday and post what I find out.

If you are open to something other than Quantum, take a look at the Montane Lite Speed. Made from Pertex Micro Lite with a double layer hood. Stuffs down pretty small. I’ve been happy with mine.

Thanks for all your comments. I knew Camp was making some really light gear (they have a climbing harness weighing just 95 gr.!!!) but I didn’t know they made clothing.
Very light hooded windshirt but difficult to obtain.
I just ordered the Montane Aero windshirt (without a hood) so I am looking forward to that. In addition to that I will use my GoLite Helios as more rainproof protection (it is not a very breathable windjacket).

Bill

i payed my pullover 49 euros (58 USD). I yhink it’s a little expensive but i love it. And i’m a Quantum afficionado so…

Pierre, Thanks for that information. I think they would sell very well in the US at or near that price. I sure thought it would cost a lot more than $58 – US.

I called Camp – USA and asked about clothing. The person I talked to went to the “camp.it” web site and agreed the Quantum pullover looked good. He sent an email to “camp.it” to ask if they could get some here to sell. He said he would let me know the answer when he gets it. I told him if it was between $ and $, much higher than $58, to get me one if they say yes. I also like the looks of the Vest.

Camp-USA only sells the Mountaineering Line of Gear for Camp here.

I got an email from Camp-USA . I had asked them if they could get the Quantum Windshirt. They sent an email to Camp.it. The answer they got back was maybe but the cost would be about $150. Way to high.

Camp-USA sent another email asking if any of their dealers over there would ship to the USA.

I am waiting on that answer now.

I might just make my own.

Check out the Marmot Ion at 85 gr. Recommened sale price $100,-
At REI discounted for $60,- (yellow only)

Another member mentioned it in the earlier posts, I just bought one, can’t wait to try it out.

I looked at the one at REI, I just don’t want Yellow. If I can’t get a Black one from Camp.it I will wait till I have time and make my own.

At marmot.com they have the new 2006 colours, and the Ion is available in black for the regular price of $100,-.
But making it yourself is way cooler…good luck!
