I see there's a 1 litre option. Will it take an 8 oz canister does anyone know? If it does, I'm guessing it may also fit a Snowpeak GST 100, which would probably put me in the market for a replacement for my Titan. (I'm a biggish eater!)

I got one of the 750ml versions a couple weeks ago from AGG.

Advertised weight is 3.36 oz. Mine weighed in at 3.3oz.

The silicone handle covers can be removed and put back on with little effort. They weigh in at 0.1 oz.

Don't know about the fuel canisters. The published dimensions are 3.9" wide x 4.36 " tall.

The lid is very nice. It press fit snaps into place for draining pasta so you don't have to have your hand on the lid while draining (no steam burns).

The lid knob is riveted onto the pot. If you want to replace it with something lighter, you will have to drill out the rivet first. But since it requires 2 hands and a firm grip to remove the lid when it is locked onto the pot, I don't think I am going to mess with this.

I was a little concerned at first that it required so much effort to take the lid off the pot when it was locked on there. This could make for a dangerous situation if you were trying to remove the lid with boiling water in the pot, possibly causing splashing and all that. But the lid can be sat securely on the pot, without locking it into place. I think the only times I would lock the lid into place is when I was draining pasta or when I have the pot packed away in my pack.

One of the reasons I bought this pot was that it was one of the lightest pots I could find that would fit one of those fancy new Bushcooker LT1 woodburning stoves inside.

5.8 oz for stove and pot…. Sure you can go lighter with a Heineken can and a alky stove, but then you have to carry fuel…

BTW you could go lighter with an 850ml pot from Mountain Laurel Designs (3.15 oz). But I really liked the snap on lid….

Hey Mike, thanks for the review. Sounds like the lid works great. I think I'll go for the one liter as it should hold an 8oz canister inside.

Bailey, I agree the hard anodized are better for cooking. I have an older GSI double boiler for when I want to "cook". I see you are in SLO, County. Looks like there are a few of us posting on here.

Bailey, Do you have the weights of the pieces of the Brunton HA pot set?
Any other hard anodized AL pots that are light and available?

Brunton I.B. hard anodized aluminum cookset. 2 pots with swing-out handles and volumn markings, 1 lid that fits inside the pot rims with drain holes, and storage sack…weighs 9.4oz (267g).

Highlights:
Large pot weighs 4.2oz (118g) with 1L capacity
Small pot weighs 3.5oz (100g) with .8L capacity
Lid is 1.2oz (35g)
Sack is .5oz (14g)
Large pot fits into the small and lid on top.

Other HAA cooksets I looked at are:
Optimus Terra Weekend .95L with pan/lid at 222 g (7.8 oz).
Optimus Terra Solo .60L with pan/lid at 166 g (5.6 oz)
Primus Litech Trek Kettle/Pot with pan/lid at 267 g (9.4 oz).

An 8oz MSR gas canister will fit inside all except the Terra Solo which will only hold a 4oz GC.

I also own the Terra Weekend set. My configuration for 2-3 people goes like this: Brunton IB with a Mini Trangia stove and windshield/pot stand inside the large pot, then the Terra Weekend pot on top with a Bushbuddy stove inside the Weekend pot and its pan/lid on top…the Brunton's lid goes outside somewhere.

Thanks for the weight info, Bailey.
Using one pot from the Brunton set sounds like a good light option for cooking, as opposed to just boiling water.

Sure! We just built the Pasta Pot cones last week and are ready to do one for the Ti-Tri as well. Just mention it in the comments to the vendor when you go through the paypal process, and we'll make it happen.
