the altis significantly is cheaper at backcountry.com
they recently have had the highgear axis on steep and cheap a few times for $36. never valued the knowledge of my altitude based on barometric pressure for what altimeter watches retail for, but 36 isn't bad. they are selling the axis for a little more on backcountry's main page
