I have just done my first day hike after being ill for a while with pneumonia and a cracked rib.
It's good to be back in training after a few months recovering.

To celebrate, I took delivery of an Integral Designs Siltarp2, 10×8, which will be my go to tarp for below tree line hikes. Excellent quality tarp, from first impression.

Here's the set- up with a Six Moon Designs Serenity tent net. Plenty of room under there.

Disclaimer- I've tried a smaller tarp, but it just wasn't for me.

I can't wait to get back into shape and into those Pyrenees. Six weeks holiday coming up!!

    cheers,
    fred

Nice photo. Looks like you get a nice tight, no sag set of that tarp.

    Thanks,
That was my first pitch. Poles at 130, slippery half hitch on the line, and the corners staked to the ground. 8 stakes and two 4m lengths of 2mm line is the full kit- weighs less than half a kilo.
I seam sealed the ridge line, and sewed an internal elastic loop in the centre to hang the net.
Can't wait to get out there again!!
    cheers,
    fred

    Fred,
That's a great set up option for that combo, would have never thought of having the door face the inside wall, but makes sense.

Agree about smaller tarps, prefer 8×10 for mixed/bad weather.

best of luck with your recovery.
    Jim
