What is the best water repellent for waterproofing your pack? I'm contemplating leaving behind my pack cover this year since all my water-sensitive gear (sleeping bag, clothing) is already in waterproof stuff sacks.

I've been considering just using the McNett ReviveX Spray-On Water Repellent or Nikwax Tent and Gear Solarproof Waterproofing Spray but haven't tried it yet. I too would like to hear from others what has worked for them.

This is what I do. Gave up on the waterproof cover a while ago. I'm a big fan of Mcnett products. I spray the pack, which helps keep water out, and keep key stuff in waterproof stuff sacks.

I agree, REVIVEX appears to be even better as a DWR than Techron DWR. Gore-Tex recomends REVIVEX.

Doesn't spraying your pack just make it more difficult to dry the inside once it does get wet? Unless, I believe, its a breathable pack.
